They are 8% base crit damage unlike the 12% for the good ones. Crit isn't the be all, end all of things. High base attack more than offsets the "lower" crit damage substat. 55 extra base attack is very significant. Ayaka's best 4* sword is actually neither. It's Amenoma Kageuta, the new craftable.
