Step One – Place all ingredients in a slow cooker except the gumbo file and okra. Step Two – Cover the slow cooker and cook on high 3-4 hours or on low 6-8 hours. For the Gumbo Add chicken broth to a 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker. Stir in the roux. Add sausage, chicken, okra, onion, green pepper, celery, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours, or on high for 4 to 5 hours. Skim off fat. Serve and enjoy.
